Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician I performs a variety of duties involved in the maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment. They work from work orders, drawings, specifications, diagrams, and verbal instruction, and they use a wide variety of hand tools and power tools. They document their work on the building and equipment within the company's computerized maintenance management system.

- Complete assigned work request in a timely manner
- Accomplish preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled
- Safe and effective use of hand and power tools
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on a wide variety of general facility equipment located both inside and outside the building.
- Performs duties involved in the upkeep of the building exterior and grounds upkeeping.
- Performs support services in a courteous and timely manner. Remains current on new techniques and technology applicable to position.
- Performs preventative maintenance of rotating and stationary equipment as assigned.
- Performs routine maintenance as well as cleaning, painting, and other duties to improve the facility or equipment.
- Documents work performed in company's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Drives company vehicle for pickups and deliveries as directed.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Uses equipment and materials properly and follows Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver's license
- 3 years of experience in building, grounds and equipment maintenance
- Holds and maintains a good driving record
- Experience with effective documentation of work detail data into a computerized system
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
- Moderate physical activity and manual dexterity with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.
This position reports into the site every workday.

This position has no direct reports.
