About The Role
We’re looking for a Patent Agent to own and drive our patent prosecution strategy. This role is ideal for someone who has deep experience at a top-tier law firm and is ready to work more autonomously, partnering closely with technical teams to protect and grow a sophisticated IP portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Lead patent prosecution efforts from invention disclosure through issuance
- Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications with minimal oversight
- Advise internal stakeholders on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and portfolio strategy
- Collaborate directly with engineers, researchers, and leadership on invention development
- Manage outside counsel as needed and review their work for quality and strategy
- Help shape long-term IP strategy aligned with company product and research roadmap
- 4 years of experience as a Patent Agent at a top law firm
- Strong background in electrical engineering or a closely related technical field
- Advanced technical degree preferred (Master’s or PhD strongly desired)
- Registered to practice before the USPTO
- Proven ability to manage patent prosecution independently
- Clear communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into strong patent claims
