Andy Pac, Inc. – Shop Lead (Full-Time W‐2)Position OverviewThe Shop Lead is a full-time W‐2 leadership position responsible for coordinating daily shop production activities and ensuring manufacturing schedules are executed efficiently and safely. This role serves as the primary operational point within the shop, bridging engineering direction and production requirements with hands-on execution.The Shop Lead is expected to operate independently, maintain production flow, and ensure shop personnel have the information needed to complete work without unnecessary interruptions to engineering or production management.Employment ClassificationPosition Type: Full-Time (W‐2)Location: Shop / Manufacturing FacilityReports To: Production ManagerWorks Closely With: Engineering and Production ManagementCompensationHourly Pay Range: $23 – $30 per hourCompensation based on experience, demonstrated capability, and technical skillset.Core ResponsibilitiesProduction CoordinationCoordinate daily shop activities to meet production schedules and delivery targets.Work with engineering and production management to understand upcoming builds, priorities, and deadlines.Translate engineering direction and production requirements into actionable shop tasks.Ensure jobs are properly staged, materials are prepared, and work is completed in sequence to maintain production flow.Shop ExecutionPerform hands-on work as needed to support shop operations.Operate shop equipment including manual and powered machinery.Assist with fabrication, machining, assembly, and maintenance activities when required.Operational CommunicationAct as the first line of clarification for shop personnel.Answer routine operational questions to reduce unnecessary escalation to engineering and production management.Escalate only technical design or scope issues that require engineering review.Workflow ManagementMonitor work progress to ensure tasks are completed according to schedule.Adjust workflow as needed to prevent bottlenecks or delays.Coordinate with supervisors if production adjustments or scheduling changes are required.Quality and SafetyEnsure all shop work meets company quality standards.Maintain a safe and organized working environment.Follow and reinforce shop safety procedures and operational best practices.Technical Experience (Preferred)Candidates should possess practical experience in several of the following areas:Welding and fabricationIndustrial maintenanceMachining operationsOperation of Bridgeport millsManual lathesManual millsGeneral shop equipmentCNC machining experience (preferred but not required)Required SkillsAbility to work independently and make sound operational decisionsStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to take direction and translate it into executable shop tasksAbility to provide guidance and direction to other shop personnelStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilityClear communication with engineering, production management, and shop personnelLeadership ExpectationsThe Shop Lead must be capable of both receiving direction and providing it.
