What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Aide position at Tabor A Family of Services?
JOB SUMMARY
The Independent Living (IL) Case Aide assists the Chester County Independent Living Program staff. The Case Aide transports youth throughout Chester County as well as throughout surrounding counties and cities where the youth reside. The Case Aide may participate and assist in accessing resources and records. The Case Aide will assist in delivering stipends, donations to youth, and/or materials needed for classes, workshops, and YABs (Youth Advisory Boards). This position requires direct client interaction, execution of transport, and supportive communication and interventions to deliver services. The IL Case Aide will operate a passenger van or vehicle provided by Tabor much of the time. On occasions when Tabor-provided vehicles are not available, the Case Aide may be asked to use their own vehicle when not transporting clients, in which case travel reimbursement will be provided. This is a part-time position, with hours up to twenty-five per week. The weekly schedule is Monday–Friday, with daytime and early evening hours varying according to departmental needs.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED (required).
EXPERIENCE
Six (6) months’ experience in transportation services and/or clerical experience and/or six (6) months’ experience working with youth is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to provide accurate and timely case notes and documentation.
- Strong oral and communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and professional boundaries and relationships with clients, coworkers, and visitors.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of youth and families.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgement, and prioritize skills.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
- Ability to complete clerical work such as filing, file/peer reviews, set up binders, preparing for classes, workshops and/or YAB’s and other duties.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to use your own vehicle.
- Clean driving history record.
- Must be free from any communicable or infectious diseases.
- Provide a valid PA child abuse clearance, FBI check, and criminal background check.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transport of youth on scheduled and unscheduled appointments, classes, workshops, and Youth Advisory Boards.
- Deliver materials, such as stipends, donations, and other items to youth as needed.
- Inform team of scheduled transport and when available each week.
- Engage with youth and staff in a respectful manner.
- Communicates with Tabor IL Team to coordinate transportation assignments each week.
- Prepares vehicles for usage by getting gas for agency vehicles.
- Logs and tracks vehicle usage, gas receipts, etc.
- Assists youth in and out of vehicles, if needed.
- Completes incident reports accurately and timely, as needed.
- Assists with clerical tasks such as putting together packets/binders of information, filing, reviewing files, and aiding with peer reviews with supervisor as requested.
- Supports and assists staff during classes, Youth Advisory Board, and/or workshops.
- Assists staff with chaperoning youth during classes, workshops, YABs, if needed.
Pay: $18.40 per hour
