General Responsibilities for a Server
Servers spend a lot of their time responding to the needs of their customers, so their duties often include:
- Preparing the dining area, laying and decorating tables and making sure that all flatware and glasses are clean and correctly positioned
- Bringing menus, listing and describing specials, making recommendations and taking orders
- Serving food to high standards by ensuring that all dishes are presented correctly and in a timely manner
- Checking on diners during their meal to ascertain their satisfaction levels
- Preparing and delivering checks, taking payments and assisting guests as they leave the establishment
- Merchanding special food and beverage offerings to guests
Desired Skills / Role Requirements
- Has at least 1-year experience working in a casual or fine dining restaurant.
- Has finished high school education.
- Has excellent oral communication skills.
- Must have good listening and understanding skills.
- Is able to balance and carry dishes on a tray.
- Must be able to quickly learn our Point-Of-Sale.
- Can handle being on their feet for 4 hours or more.
- Is a team player.
- Has basic knowledge in fine dining cuisine.
