Welder - Light Industrial 1st & 2nd Shift

Tabet Manufacturing Co. has openings for full time Welders. The candidate should be a multitasker with excellent communications skills and a positive upbeat attitude. This position will perform welding on assigned projects by staging and setting up materials and equipment. Responsible for fitting and welding of various types of metal using a TIG/ MIG process. This position requires knowledge of basic welding techniques and a proficient ability to weld. Strict adherence and awareness of proper safety techniques is essential. Accurate measurements, and the ability to read and use a tape measure and calipers is required. Due to the nature of the work this position must be a US citizen.

Available Shifts:

1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm

2nd Shift: 2pm-10:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welding of a variety of metals in varying thickness
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Inspect welds for accuracy
• Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, tapping and cutting of steel/aluminum and other parts
• Change wire, welding, as needed
• Change gas tanks, as needed
• Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and working areas in clean, neat, and orderly condition; use prescribed safety equipment and follow safety rules.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous welding experience (3 years).
• Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to weld metal at varying degrees of width (16ga to 1-1/2" thick)

Equipment Used

• 350 Miller tig / 350p Miller mig
• Electric and pneumatic hand grinders
• Simple hand tools

Physical Requirements

• Ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push objects weighing up to 50lbs.
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to visually identify and distinguish colors.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
• Prolonged stooping, kneeling, walking, standing and sitting.
