What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Planner position at TABACALERA USA Inc.?
Own end-to-end supply and inventory planning for the assigned B2C portfolio within the 800‑JR business. This role serves as the critical link between commercial demand (merchandising/marketing) and supply execution (vendors, factories, and operations), ensuring optimal product availability, working capital efficiency, and service levels. The planner is accountable for:
- Inventory strategy and execution
- Purchase order lifecycle management
- Vendor coordination
Alignment to commercial plans and promotions
- Inventory & Replenishment Management
- Own inventory health across assigned portfolio, including (i) In-stock levels, (ii) Safety stock and (iii) reorder parameters, Inventory turns and DOH
- Generate and place purchase orders (POs) based on demand, lead times, and supply constraints
- Proactively manage supply risks (stockouts, overstocks, long lead items) and escalate when needed
- To balance service levels with working capital targets
- Demand Alignment & Planning
- Translate merchant forecasts, promotions, and campaigns into actionable supply plans
- Adjust plans based on: (i) Seasonality, (ii) Historical sales trends, (iii) New product introductions
- Collaborate with Demand Planning and Marketing to validate assumptions and close forecast gaps
- Vendor & Supply Execution
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned vendors and factories
- Manage: (i) Order confirmations, (ii) Delivery timelines, (iii) Shipment schedules
- Monitor supplier performance (OTIF, lead time adherence)
- In coordination with Procurement, identify opportunities to improve: (i) Lead times, (ii) MOQ structures, (iii) Cost and terms
- Inventory Optimization & Financial Control
- Partner with Finance, A/P, and Inventory teams to ensure: (i) Accurate costing and invoice reconciliation, (ii) Proper accruals and PO tracking
- Actively manage: (i) Aged and excess inventory, (ii) Slow-moving SKUs and exit strategies
- Support margin optimization through buying decisions and timing
- Cross-Functional Business Support
- Provide actionable insights to Merchandising on: (i) Inventory gaps vs. sales targets, (ii) Risk of stockouts on key SKUs/promos, (iii) Opportunities to accelerate or slow purchases
- Support promotional planning by aligning inventory availability with campaign calendars
- Data & System Integrity
- Maintain accurate item master data in ERP, based on business requirements.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency (forecasting, data analysis, modeling)
- Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, AS400)
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-SKU B2C environment
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management
Preferred:
- Spanish proficiency
Experience in: (i) B2C or e-commerce supply chains, (ii) Buying / purchasing / inventory planning, (iii) High-SKU, promotional-driven businesses
Work Conditions & Travel
- Office-based role with hybrid arrangement (3 days in office / 2 days remote).
- Standard office work environment; no lifting requirements.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
