Pay: $24 - $30/hr. DOE
Hour: 3:30PM - 12:00AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
- Measure and prepare workpieces using calipers, rulers, grinders, and clamps.
- Operate manual and automated welding equipment in various positions (e.g., vertical, horizontal).
- Fabricate and assemble new or replacement metal parts according to project layouts.
- Ensure proper arc length and welding speed for desired fusion and bead quality.
- Inspect welds for precision, bead size, and structural soundness.
- Grind, clean, and repair weld joints or improperly welded sections.
- Assemble parts using hand tools and small power tools.
- Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment and accessories.
- Log work progress through our computer-based data collection system.
- Prioritize tasks by assessing job complexity, materials needed, and deadlines.
- Comply with all plant safety procedures and wear required protective gear.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Welding certification highly preferred
Experience:
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience working with steel and aluminum
- Proven proficiency in wire feed welding, layout, and fabrication
- Experience with mechanical systems and hydraulics is a plus
- Comfortable using power tools, pneumatic wrenches, grinder; etc.
- Demonstrate competency in basic shop math
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawings.
- Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
- Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed and continuous improvement.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
