We're seeking a results-driven Freight Broker / Logistics Account Manager to coordinate freight shipments, build relationships with shippers and carriers, and deliver exceptional transportation solutions. In this fully remote role, you'll negotiate rates, manage shipments from pickup to delivery, and ensure customers receive reliable, cost-effective logistics services.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage relationships with shippers, carriers, and transportation partners.
- Source carrier capacity and negotiate competitive freight rates.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments from pickup through final delivery.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, service issues, and exceptions.
- Generate new business through outbound prospecting, referrals, and account development.
- Manage customer accounts while identifying opportunities to grow revenue.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems (TMS).
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure on-time delivery and outstanding customer service.
- Stay informed on market trends, transportation regulations, and carrier capacity.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote sales environment.
Preferred Experience
- Existing relationships with shippers and carrier networks.
- Experience with truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), intermodal, expedited, or specialized freight.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and transportation compliance.
- Experience with logistics platforms such as McLeod, Tai TMS, MercuryGate, Truckstop.com, DAT Load Board, or other freight management systems.
- Proven success meeting or exceeding sales and gross margin goals.
