What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer - Commercial Construction position at TA Loving?
Join our dynamic Building Business Unit and Greenville project team as a Project Engineer, where you will drive project success from startup to closeout. You will play a vital role in scheduling, procurement, contract execution, and maintaining our "Safe Work, No Work" mindset across the jobsite.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Safety & Risk Management: Lead weekly safety talks, enforce site-specific safety protocols, and correct unsafe acts immediately with a proactive mindset.
- Project Administration: Manage drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders using modern software like Procore and Vista.
- Procurement & Cost Control: Track material deliveries, review subcontractor proposals, and support budget tracking and invoice approvals.
- Communication & Leadership: Facilitate meetings with owners and subcontractors, build strong client relationships, and help mentor onsite personnel.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency or a fast learning curve with Microsoft Office, Procore, Vista, or similar project tools.
- Core Competencies: Strong reading comprehension for blueprints, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and skilled contract negotiation.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and an uncompromising commitment to jobsite safety.
