What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Opto-Mechanical Technician (6 month contract) position at TA Instruments?

This role is an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend. The individual will be hired as a contingent worker through Waters' primary temporary staffing partner.
- Assemble prototypes, sub-assemblies, engineering builds, trade show units, etc.
- Perform testing of components, PCBs, sub-assemblies and modules under the direction of Development Engineers.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems associated with systems, instruments, modules, sub-assemblies, components, etc.
- Procure material internally and externally.
- Rework material or instruments as required.
- Identify root cause, design issues or design improvements
- Assist with departmental tasks such as maintainence/operation of 3D printers and other lab equipment.
- Education:
- Vocational High School or technical degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of opto/electrical/mechanical instrumentation.
- Experience:
- One to three years of experience as a opto-mechanical/mechanical technician or a similar role
- Experience using hand tools and lab equipment.
- Experience using various computer based software testing products.
- Proficient in following assembly and testing procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication.
