The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in mechanical utilities with a proved track record of leading complex projects from design through commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design and coordination of mechanical utilities, including CUP (central utility plant), cleanroom, HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, dehumidifiers, and waste handling.
- Serve as the owner's representative with design firms, contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Support project execution through design reviews, schedule and scope management, and coordination of utilities interfaces.
- Provide oversight during construction, startup and commissioning to ensure systems perform as intended.
- Troubleshoot and optimize mechanical utilities to improve reliability, performance, and energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, process, and EHS teams to ensure integrated and reliable facility utilities.
- Maintain documentation, reporting, and communication for stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in facilities engineering, with a focus on mechanical utilities.
- Proven experience delivering projects from design through commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of CUP, HVAC, cleanroom mechanical systems, chilled water, compressed air, dehumidification and waste handling.
- Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong communication, documentation, and project tracking abilities.
