Your Challenge
- Analyze purchase requisitions and determine appropriate sourcing strategies within established guidelines.
- Solicit, evaluate and negotiate quotes, pricing and delivery terms with suppliers for non-complex to moderately complex requirements.
- Support supplier selection.
- Conduct supplier site visits and rate them as to production capability, performance and delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance, including delivery, quality and responsiveness.
- Proactively address issues and escalate as needed.
- Issue and administer purchase orders, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable Federal, state, and/or local regulations concerning the purchase or shipment of goods, materials or services.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies, receiving issues and supplier disputes.
- Maintain accurate and complete procurement records.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to ensure alignment with program schedules and requirements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing practices and supplier management.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Basic negotiation skills and exposure to contract terms and conditions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
