Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape installation projects, including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, and laying hardscape features such as patios and walkways
- Perform lawn care duties such as mowing, edging, trimming, and aerating turf areas to ensure healthy and attractive lawns
- Maintain existing landscapes through pruning, tree trimming, fertilizing, and irrigation system management
- Operate hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruners, and wheelbarrows efficiently and safely during daily tasks
- Utilize power tools including trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and excavators for various landscaping needs
- Support snow plowing operations during winter months to ensure safe access for clients and staff
- Conduct general maintenance of equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with the installation of irrigation systems and perform routine checks for proper operation
- Follow safety protocols at all times when working with machinery such as excavators or during construction activities
- Collaborate with team members on landscape design projects and provide input based on horticultural knowledge
Requirements
- Prior experience or familiarity with landscaping tasks is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is highly valued
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating construction equipment like excavators is a plus
- Basic understanding of horticulture principles, lawn care practices, and garden maintenance techniques
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of tree care practices including trimming and pruning techniques
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor throughout the day
- Strong attention to detail combined with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license may be required for equipment operation or transportation purposes
