Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all designated areas
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain pristine surfaces
- Clean carpets thoroughly using appropriate methods and equipment to remove stains and dirt
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms by sanitizing fixtures, replenishing supplies, and ensuring hygiene standards are met
- Handle waste disposal efficiently, ensuring trash bins are emptied regularly and recycling protocols are followed
- Use janitorial equipment safely and effectively, including vacuums, buffers, carpet extractors, and cleaning chemicals
- Follow established health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and safety protocols
- Knowledge of floor care procedures such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning methods
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery including buffers, carpet cleaners, and floor scrubbers with confidence
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Good physical stamina to perform manual cleaning duties including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with environmental services practices and safety regulations related to janitorial work is preferred
