Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate hot oil trucks and related equipment in oilfield environments.
  • Heat and circulate fluids to thaw frozen flowlines, separators, wellheads, tanks, and production equipment.
  • Perform paraffin removal, tank heating, line thawing, and production maintenance services.
  • Complete pre-job planning, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard assessments before beginning work.
  • Inspect work locations for hazards and implement appropriate controls.
  • Monitor temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and burner operations throughout each job.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily inspections on trucks, trailers, burners, pumps, hoses, and safety equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on hot oil equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately, including:
  • Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR)
  • Daily equipment inspections
  • Job tickets
  • Fuel records
  • Maintenance reports
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company driving policies.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, supervisors, and other field personnel.
  • Respond to emergency callouts, weather-related events, and after-hours work as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work vehicle.
  • Stop work immediately when unsafe conditions exist and exercise Stop Work Authority when necessary.
  • Participate in safety meetings, client orientations, and required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement (Hazmat preferred if required by customer).
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Previous oilfield experience preferred.
  • Experience operating hot oil units or similar oilfield service equipment preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all client-required certifications.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read gauges, operating manuals, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Required Certifications (or Ability to Obtain)

  • OSHA 10
  • H2S Alive or H2S Clear
  • Safeland/PEC or One Basin One Way
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Defensive Driving
  • DOT Medical Certificate

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

  • Frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and equipment safely.
  • Bend, kneel, squat, crawl, and work in confined areas.
  • Work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and muddy conditions.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Wear required PPE, including:
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses
  • Flame Resistant (FR) clothing
  • Steel-toed boots
  • Gloves
  • Hearing protection
  • Respiratory protection when required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Knowledge of oilfield production equipment and processes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues in the field.
  • Strong customer service and professionalism.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer and tablet proficiency for electronic reporting.

Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
