Position Overview
As a Landscape Crew Member, you'll play an essential role in the installation and/or maintenance of high-quality residential and commercial landscapes. Working alongside experienced crew members, you'll help create and maintain beautiful outdoor environments while operating professional-grade equipment and learning advanced landscaping techniques.
This position also supports our landscape materials yard with deliveries, loading customer vehicles, transporting materials, and assisting field crews as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape installations and landscape maintenance.
- Complete spring and fall cleanups.
- Install trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal plantings.
- Spread mulch, weed planting beds, prune shrubs, and edge landscape beds.
- Operate power equipment, hand tools, and small machinery safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, mowers, equipment, and landscape materials.
- Deliver materials and supplies to job sites and customers.
- Assist crews with errands and project support throughout the day.
- Maintain company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment in clean, safe working condition.
- Follow directions from crew leaders while also working independently when required.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous customer service.
- Continue developing industry knowledge and landscaping skills.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess:
- Minimum of 2 years of landscape maintenance experience
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate trucks and trailers
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
- Knowledge of proper planting techniques (preferred)
- Plant identification knowledge (a plus)
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position requiring applicants to:
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Lift and carry heavy landscape materials on a regular basis
- Load and unload equipment, including commercial mowers
- Stand, bend, kneel, and walk throughout the workday
- Maintain the physical stamina necessary for demanding landscape work
Schedule
- Average 45 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- Typically 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional Saturdays as needed due to weather or client schedules
Employment Requirements
