Job Summary
This Principal Architect will play a key role in shaping and advocating the group's architecture principles and value propositions to technology and business partners. The role will be accountable for realizing the true value of technology infrastructure and operations solutions for the firm.
Responsibilities
- Requires specialized knowledge and deep expertise in integrating related disciplinary knowledge
- Works with senior technology and Enterprise Architecture leadership to enable infrastructure modernization, focusing on SRE, AI Ops/No Ops functions, global data centers, cloud awareness, and automation
- Works independently, with guidance only in complex situations
- Acts as advisor to management and key external stakeholders on broad-ranging projects
- Buil ds and drives the Target State architecture for Technology Infrastructure and Operations
- Ensures Architects follow all aspects of the Enterprise Architecture process from initiation to closure, with a focus on impacts to ongoing operations
- Partners with Technical Engineering to design and deliver solutions that strengthen the operational architecture and infrastructure
- Mentors and supports Senior Architects in project engagements
- Ensures solution delivery follows the firm's Policies and Standards
- Represents the organization's architecture and strategy at internal and external forums
- Stays abreast of industry and technology trends, identifying new technologies that might be advantageous
Technical and Business Knowledge
- Demonstrates deep knowledge of Technology Infrastructure and Operations, with expertise in networks, on-premises infrastructure technology, and operations, and technology lifecycle management
- Solid knowledge of SDLC practices
- Articulates broader business concerns and/or regulatory landscape, including key risks and controls (e.g., GDPR, MIFID, SOX)
- Skilled at making decisions cognizant of the firm's broader business strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, and 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior Architecture role
- Proven experience leading infrastructure architecture projects in large, complex environments
- Experience with a variety of infrastructure technologies (e.g., networks, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud services)
- Proficiency in a multi-cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services
- Authority in an Infrastructure architecture discipline or domain
