Job description
As an Ironworker foreman at T&R STEEL, you’ll be part of a crew responsible for the safe and precise erection of structural steel. This includes reading blueprints, unloading materials, placing and bolting up steel, and working at heights using rigging and lifting equipment.
Pay $30 to $35 * Experience 5 Plus years in Structural Steel /PEMB Erection Rigging or Welding * Tools Need- Tape measure, Hammer, Square, Plumb bob, Crescent Wrench, Tool Belt, Spud Wrenches, Toolbox, Slever Bar, Bull Pins, Framing Square, Welding Hood, Striker, Truck to pull tool trailer. * Skills- Willing to learn, Work Ethic, Able to work at Heights, Able to read a tape measure, Bolt up structural Steel, Lay out Structural steel withoutSupervision , Connect Steel, Operate Equipment (Forklift Scissor lift Awp), Unload trucks correctly, use Grinders with cut off desk, Shake out decking , Layout for Screws, Read blue prints with no supervision , Plumbing Steel without supervision, Lay out walls for sheeting Without supervision , Installing 2nd Steel without supervision , Unload trucks ,Make steel erection plan ,Start a PEMB Roof with no supervision, Flag a crane , Set up crane and make crane plan Take 3 to 6 men and instruct them on how to do a task while helping them do the task and making sure every on stays working. Pull Field Measurements for the office. Watch over the safety of all men on the job, UsingEsub (Field notes and daily Reports ). Setting up a daily and weekly Plan of what you and your crew will being doing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Erect structural steel columns, beams, and joists
- Bolt-up and connect steel components according to drawings and specifications
- Use cranes, rigging, and hand signals to move and place steel
- Install metal decking, stairs, and handrails
- Maintain strict adherence to job site safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Read and interpret structural drawings and erection plans
- Perform work at elevated heights, often from aerial lifts or steel members
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 year's of experience in structural steel erection or ironworking
- LIVE IN THE INDIANAPOLIS AREA AND WILLING TO TRAVEL
- Strong knowledge of rigging, connecting, bolting, and decking
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and erection drawings
- Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions
- Must have personal hand tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
- Welding certification a plus (but not required)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
