Position Title: Lead Fence Installer
Reports To: Operations Manager / Installation Manager
Position Summary
The Lead Fence Installer is responsible for leading a crew in the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of residential, commercial, and industrial fencing. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on schedule while maintaining exceptional workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a fence installation crew on daily job sites.
- Read and interpret work orders, site plans, and property layouts.
- Measure, mark, and prepare installation sites.
- Install a variety of fencing materials, including wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, and ornamental fencing.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, skid steers, augers, and other installation equipment safely.
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, local codes, and customer specifications.
- Train and mentor new installers and crew members.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding project progress and address questions professionally.
- Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Qualifications
- 2 years of fence installation experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a construction or installation crew preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various fencing systems and installation techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, site layouts, and measuring tools accurately.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).
- Ability to lift 75–100 pounds and perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini excavator, auger, etc.).
- Concrete setting and layout experience.
- Basic carpentry and construction knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot installation challenges in the field.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable using power tools and heavy equipment.
