Role Description The Manager Software Engineering for Mobile Applications at T-Mobile is a full-time, on-site role based in Overland Park, KS. This role leads a team of mobile software engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining customer-facing mobile applications that leverage T-Mobile’s advanced network capabilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding technical design decisions, overseeing implementation and code quality, coordinating project plans and delivery timelines, and ensuring scalable and reliable distributed mobile solutions. The manager collaborates closely with product owners, UX designers, and cross-functional partners to align engineering work with business goals and user experience standards. This role also includes mentoring team members, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture, and continuously improving engineering practices and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong software development skills in mobile application environments, including experience with modern frameworks and programming languages.
- Proficiency in software design and architecture, with a focus on building scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Demonstrated team leadership capabilities, including coaching engineers, setting clear goals, and promoting collaborative, inclusive work practices.
- Experience in project management, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and on-time delivery of complex initiatives.
- Knowledge of distributed systems concepts and practical experience designing or integrating distributed services and APIs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
