Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service by understanding their needs and offering tailored product recommendations.
• Assist customers with plant identification, gardening tips, and landscape maintenance advice to enhance their outdoor projects.
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring merchandise is attractive and accessible.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for cashiering and cash handling transactions while maintaining retail math accuracy.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging floral arrangements, seasonal displays, and promotional signage to boost sales.
• Provide product knowledge on horticulture, lawn care equipment, floral design supplies, and e-commerce options to inform customer choices.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor areas to ensure a safe shopping environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members across departments to coordinate stocking schedules and customer service initiatives.

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in garden centers or hardware stores.
• Knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, horticulture, or floral design is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math ensures smooth transactions.
• Strong communication skills in English are essential; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
• Demonstrated organizational skills for managing stock levels and merchandising displays efficiently.
• Experience with plant identification and gardening techniques helps provide expert advice to customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and excellent customer service standards.
