Product Transfer (PT)

T. Marzetti Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corporation (NASDAQ: LANC), is a manufacturer and marketer of specialty food products for the retail and foodservice markets. Our retail brands include Marzetti^®, New York Bakery™ and Sister Schubert’s^®, in addition to exclusive license agreements for Olive Garden^® dressings, Chick-fil-A^® sauces and Buffalo Wild Wings^® sauces. Our foodservice business supplies many of the top restaurant chains in the United States. 

• Review all pertinent SOP’s and is a QI (Qualified Individual) for the position
• Calculate the remaining balance for the item that is running.
• Pre wrap the pallet by hand for safe transportation.
• Tie wrap from the wrapping machine on the bottom of the pallet and start the machine to auto wrap the pallet.
• Scan in prism all pallets collected from the lines.
• Write a ticket sheet that is then recorded on the production transfer sheet.
• Before removing a pallet, ensure that the corresponding label and ticket are on the pallet.
• Record the total balance on the daily packaging sheet so the next shift can calculate the remaining balance.
• Maintain company standards for cleanliness, food safety, and productivity in the packaging area.
• Ensure compliance to quality, food safety, 5s, OSHA, and HACCP support programs; assure conformity to all company, customers, and government standards.
• Participate in activities related to Marzetti Operational Excellence.

No supervisor responsibilities

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment requiring repetitive work is preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude is helpful.
• May not have food allergies.

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to lift 5 pounds frequently and 12 pounds above the shoulder occasionally. Must be able to stand for an 8 – 10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. Will be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, and moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required per company GMP and safety standards.
