Pay Range: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

A Buying Agent is a motivated, goal-driven, and team-oriented professional responsible for creating accurate purchase orders and supporting the Purchasing, Sales, and Logistics teams. This role involves working collaboratively across departments to ensure a seamless supply chain that meets production needs. Key responsibilities include buying and maintaining stock levels, analyzing forecasts, developing a deep understanding of product lines, creating and managing purchasing platforms for various products, and continuously seeking opportunities for process and cost improvements.

Purchasing Duties:

• Convert MRP (Buy Plan) signals into accurate purchase orders
• Issue POs, PO changes, confirmations, and validate acknowledgments and pricing
• Maintain accurate PO dates, quantities, and pricing
• Process daily order acknowledgments
• Follow up with suppliers on late orders and manage lead times.
• Monitor open PO report daily
• Ensure pricing is 100 percent accurate in all proper documents and system.

Expediting & Open Order Management:

• Expedite critical materials to prevent stockouts
• Follow up on partial shipments
• Manage supplier communication for daily operational issues
• Supplier Communication 
• Schedule routine supplier updates
• Track deliveries and shipment status
• Communicate quality issues
• Resolve documentation issues (COOs, packing lists, invoices)
• Ensure great relationships with suppliers

Inventory Availability Management:

• Monitor inbound schedules and identify shortages
• Escalate high-risk items to Purchasing Supervisor or Manager
• Manage reorder frequency and avoid overbuying
• Validate MRP (Buy Plan) recommendations
• Master Data Corrections (Tactical Level)
• Update packing quantities, case sizes, and costs
• Notify Supervisor of required lead-time or MOQ corrections
• Report system or Buy Plan issues impacting purchasing signals

Execution KPIs:

• PO accuracy
• On-time ordering
• Achievement of KPIs set by Supervisor
• Supplier communication effectiveness
• Zero-error PO creation
• Reduction in expedites

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Looking for a minimum of 2 years work experience within Purchasing and/or Material Planning, 
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of supply chain best practices and ability to monitor market trends.
• Microsoft Teams experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements: Travel may be required. 

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday-Friday
