What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operators position at T-K Farms?
Workers will operate tractors and sprayers; prepare seedbeds; transport inputs and harvested crops; perform equipment maintenance; assist with planting and harvesting operations. The duties are critical to the farm's operations during the seasonal period from pre-plant field preparation through post-harvest activities. Workers will engage in labor-intensive and time-sensitive agricultural tasks throughout the duration of employment. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining agricultural equipment such as tractors and sprayers to ensure proper soil cultivation, planting, crop maintenance, and harvesting of corn, wheat, pinto beans, and soybeans. Workers will prepare fields for planting by tilling and conditioning the soil, ensuring optimal seedbed conditions. They will also be responsible for transporting agricultural inputs such as seed, fertilizer, and chemicals to the field and moving harvested crops to storage or market facilities. Regular maintenance and minor repairs of equipment will be required to keep machinery in safe and efficient working condition. These duties must be performed efficiently, with attention to safety and under seasonal conditions. The nature of the work requires individuals who are experienced in agricultural equipment operation and capable of adapting to varying weather and field conditions. This position is essential to meeting the farm’s seasonal labor needs. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday. Wage offer for H-2A workers only is $17.71 per hour.
