Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles.
- Drive on designated local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure optimal safety and compliance.
- Manage delivery schedules efficiently, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs across multiple stops.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Class A) license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks is preferred.
- Proven truck driving experience with knowledge of freight handling and route driving.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other truck types is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of load & unload procedures, safety protocols, and DOT regulations.
