We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Estimator to support our Estimating Team. This role will assist in analyzing drawings and specifications, compiling cost data, and supporting the overall estimating process - building a strong foundation in construction pricing, cost control, and project planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review drawings, specifications, and other project documents to support estimate development
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in preparing detailed cost estimates
- Compile and analyze data from various sources, including historical cost data, material pricing, and internal cost data
- Maintain organized backup documentation for all estimates
- Support estimate updates, revisions, and cost comparisons throughout the preconstruction process
- Attend pre-bid meetings and assist in scope review and clarification
- Perform additional assignments as needed to support the estimating team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field (or equivalent technical training)
- Internship or prior exposure to construction or estimating preferred
- Basic understanding of construction divisions, methods, materials, and cost drivers
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
- Preferred: Experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) or similar, Quickbid, Bluebeam and/or Adobe
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
