What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Runner position at T.E. Stevens Construction?
The Parts Runner / Materials Courier supports field and shop operations by picking up parts, tools, and supplies and delivering them quickly and accurately to the shop and active job sites. This role helps minimize equipment downtime and keeps crews productive by ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time.
Essential Responsibilities
- Pick up parts, tools, and supplies from vendors and deliver them to the shop or job sites
- Deliver materials, small equipment, and jobsite supplies as directed
- Verify parts and materials against pick-up orders to ensure accuracy
- Communicate with the shop, mechanics, and field supervisors regarding delivery status
- Maintain organized receipts, packing slips, and delivery documentation
- Assist shop personnel with organizing parts and inventory when not on deliveries
- Load and unload materials safely and properly secure items for transport
- Keep company vehicle clean, fueled, and in good working condition
- Follow all company safety policies and traffic laws while driving
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Familiarity with local roads and job site navigation
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment parts and materials preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly with shop staff, vendors, and field crews
- Dependable and able to manage time efficiently without direct supervision
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent driving between vendors, shop, and job sites
- Regular lifting and carrying of parts and materials up to 100 lbs
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and active construction sites
- Frequent loading and unloading of materials and tools
Classification: Non-Exempt
