Position: Powder Coat Paint Line Supervisor - 1st Shift

Reports to: Production Manager

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Powder Coat Paint Line Supervisor to lead our industrial finishing department. You will oversee daily paint line operations, manage a skilled team, and ensure high-quality finishing standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience combined with deep technical knowledge of powder coating processes, chemical pretreatments, and automated line systems.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

· Manage Line Staff: Direct, train, and schedule paint line operators, rackers, and quality inspectors.

· Enforce Safety: Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring strict adherence to OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and chemical handling protocols.

· Monitor Performance: Evaluate team productivity, provide constructive feedback, and resolve personnel issues.

Production & Process Control

· Optimize Workflow: Oversee the daily production schedule to meet volume targets and delivery deadlines.

· Maintain Line Efficiency: Monitor line speed, oven cure times, and temperature profiles for maximum throughput.

· Manage Chemical Pretreatment: Supervise the multi-stage wash system, including chemical titration, pH monitoring, and water quality testing.

Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting

· Ensure High Quality: Inspect finished products for defects like orange peel, pinholes, or improper mil thickness.

· Solve Technical Issues: Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, powder application problems, and Faraday cage challenges.

· Maintain Equipment: Coordinate preventive maintenance for spray guns, booths, ovens, and conveyor systems.

Qualifications

Experience

· Supervisory Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years leading teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

· Powder Coating Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with electrostatic powder application and curing processes.

· Chemical Experience: Demonstrated background managing chemical wash systems and testing titration levels.

Skills & Knowledge

· Deep understanding of mil thickness gauges, crosshatch adhesion testing, and gloss meters.

· Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting automated paint lines and recovery systems.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

· Proficiency with inventory tracking and basic manufacturing software (ERP/MES).

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk on the manufacturing floor for 8–10 hours per shift.

· Capability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally.

· Comfort working in environments with fluctuating temperatures and noise levels.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
