What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor Processed Steel position at T C Industries?
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE(S) OF POSITION
Perform functions to oversee hourly employees assigned to you in the PSC organizational chart that are engaged
in the manufacturing of Processed Steel products ensuring safety, quality and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Model the right behavior in terms of initiative, compliance, moral character (honor, integrity and
courage) and work ethic to create teamwork and mutual respect amongst employees.
2. Build team spirit, pride and camaraderie within team.
3. Promote safety, environmental responsibility and continuous quality improvement in accordance with
company policies.
4. Complies with all the policies and procedures set forth in the Company Handbook.
5. Utilize performance based management tools to improve the standard of performance and development of
the team members.
6. Deploy resources to best meet daily production goals and on time delivery. Maintain attendance records.
7. Champion ISO, Lean and Six Sigma, demonstrating knowledge and commitment to the process. Uphold and
sustain 5S projects.
8. Ensure all team members are trained in all aspects of their role, including safety, health and environmental
and quality control instructions in order to maintain a cross functional, multi skilled workforce.
9. Conduct process and safety audits focused on eliminating unsafe work practices and conditions. Lead the
development of a safety-minded culture. Sustain good housekeeping and 5S activities in area of
responsibility.
10. Conduct interviews and make hiring recommendations to managers.
11. Meet with same department supervisors of following shifts at shift change to review work schedules,
equipment problems and special instructions.
12. Meet with Production Manager to receive work instructions for shift. Review safety, equipment,
manufacturing, quality, or personnel problems.
13. Review work in process to ensure quality and control of detected non-conforming product.
14. Monitor productivity levels of employees and the material review board (MRB).
15. Monitor to assure that production scheduling, quality sheets, nonconformance reports, etc. are being filled
out properly.
16. Conduct weekly meetings with employees to review reoccurring problems, safety issues, quality issues or
new product information. Inform shift managers of the results of these meetings.
17. Check machine set ups and do first article inspection, if required.
Salary : $51,000 - $70,000
