Strategic Sourcing Manager
Position Overview
Our client, a manufacturer of industrial equipment and engineered mechanical systems, is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead supplier sourcing and commodity strategy for key components.
This role focuses on identifying capable suppliers, negotiating supply agreements, and developing strong supplier partnerships to support production, quality, and long-term growth. The position partners closely with engineering and quality teams to evaluate suppliers and support new product development.
Candidates with sourcing experience in industrial equipment, HVAC, mechanical systems, or other engineered products are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct market research and supplier discovery to identify qualified suppliers globally
Develop and execute strategic sourcing and commodity strategies
Partner with Engineering and Quality to evaluate and develop new suppliers
Lead RFQs, cost analysis, and supply contract negotiations
Manage supplier relationships and performance across cost, quality, and delivery
Support new product launches and production needs through reliable sourcing
Identify cost savings, risk mitigation, and supply chain improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management within manufacturing
Experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, and supplier development
Experience sourcing components for industrial equipment, HVAC systems, mechanical assemblies, or engineered products preferred
Strong analytical, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Familiarity with ERP systems and sourcing tools is a plus
