Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist
We are seeking a hands on EHS Specialist to support two operations (located in NC and SC). This field focused role will drive safety, environmental, and MSHA compliance while working closely with employees, supervisors, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead EHS and MSHA compliance activities
• Conduct inspections, identify hazards, investigate incidents, and manage corrective actions
• Maintain safety programs, training, compliance records, and required documentation
• Support MSHA inspections, training, and hazard awareness
• Manage environmental compliance involving air, water, stormwater, wastewater, waste, and chemicals
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, employee training, and emergency preparedness
• Partner with operations and maintenance to build practical, proactive EHS programs
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3 years of EHS experience in mining, industrial minerals, manufacturing, heavy industry, construction materials, utilities, or similar environments
• Working knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations
• Experience with inspections, hazard identification, incident investigation, and corrective actions
• Strong communication skills with both leadership and hourly employees
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites
