Responsibilities
- Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare different types of meats according to store standards and customer requests
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas, including equipment and tools
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of all meat products to meet safety regulations
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about cuts of meat, and provide excellent service
- Follow safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Restock displays regularly to keep the meat department organized, attractive, and fully stocked
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals efficiently while maintaining quality
Requirements
- Previous experience as a meat cutter with a minimum of 3 years in a similar food preparation role is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to operate meat cutting equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to food safety standards
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude toward customers and team members
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks
- Knowledge of proper sanitation practices and health regulations related to meat handling is a plus
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
