Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems, including powertrain, electrical, suspension, and transmission.
- Repair and maintain vehicles by replacing worn or damaged parts, including engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, steering components, and electrical wiring.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to accurately troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, and brake inspections to ensure safety and performance standards are met.
- Diagnose complex issues related to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), diesel engines, vehicle suspension systems, and other specialized components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive repair machinery efficiently to complete repairs with precision.
- Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate auto estimating and communicate repair progress clearly to customers.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings in accordance with dealership or shop procedures.
Experience
- Proven dealership or service shop experience as an automotive technician or mechanic is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems including powertrains, transmissions, electrical systems, and vehicle suspension components.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and software used for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Experience interpreting automotive wiring diagrams and schematics for electrical repairs.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance procedures such as alignments, transmission repairs, diesel engine servicing, and welding is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently using hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive approach to diagnosing problems accurately and providing effective solutions.
