Project Overview:
This prospective contract opportunity supports the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) mission by providing enterprise-wide Information Technology Delivery and Operations Support Services (IT DOSS). The effort encompasses a broad range of IT services required to sustain, secure, and modernize FLETC’s training and operational environments across its headquarters and training delivery points. Services span application support, server and data center operations, network and transport infrastructure, cybersecurity and operations center monitoring, IT service management, end-user computing, audiovisual and collaboration technologies, database and storage administration, and program management support. The project emphasizes reliable day-to-day operations, rapid incident response to protect training continuity, and continual service improvement aligned with ITIL-based service management practices, while supporting evolving mission needs through scalable and integrated IT solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure, administer, manage, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, test, monitor, and document the ESS environment supporting enterprise security operations.
- Support installation, testing, upgrades, decommissioning, and troubleshooting of server and systems applications, tools, and services that underpin ESS, including associated supporting software and operational dependencies.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for ESS administration and operations, including incident response support for ESS-related outages or degraded performance.
- Implement and maintain ESS hardening, security best practices, and baseline configuration practices consistent with federal government procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Document reported issues and resolution steps in tickets, test alternative resolution pathways, and coordinate corrective actions that reduce recurrence.
- Process and document security exceptions or waivers as needed, coordinating with security stakeholders, system owners, and authorizing officials where required.
- Coordinate vendor and external contractor troubleshooting and installation activities, ensuring timely resolution and correct implementation of ESS changes.
- Support integration dependencies that may include server, database, storage, and security technology components, ensuring operational compatibility and stability.
- Maintain supporting documentation such as system diagrams, configuration records, and operational procedures that sustain continuity and audit readiness.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise in server, database, storage, and security technologies sufficient to fully administer and sustain the ESS environment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform ESS lifecycle and sustainment activities including upgrades, troubleshooting, diagnostics, monitoring, and documentation.
- Strong security and hardening discipline aligned to federal requirements, including the ability to document exceptions and coordinate approvals.
- Ability to coordinate across internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex ESS issues and maintain operational continuity.
- Strong documentation practices to maintain system records, operational procedures, and ticket-based resolution traceability.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience supporting physical security or enterprise security systems that interface with infrastructure services and require multidisciplinary administration.
- Experience supporting environments where security monitoring and operational continuity are tightly coupled to mission operations.
