Warehouse Loading Team Lead
Pay: Starting at $45,000 Salary (based on experience)

T.A. Smith Distributing is a family-owned beverage distributor serving East Central Indiana. We are looking for a hands-on leader to oversee our warehouse loading team and help ensure products are loaded accurately, safely, and efficiently for daily delivery operations.
Position Overview
The Loading Supervisor is responsible for leading warehouse loading operations, supervising loaders, coordinating daily assignments, and ensuring all products are prepared and loaded correctly for delivery. This position combines leadership responsibilities with active participation in warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and support warehouse loading personnel
- Assign daily workload and establish team priorities
- Ensure employees follow safety policies and warehouse procedures
- Promote a positive, productive work environment
- Train new employees and reinforce company standards
- Communicate effectively with warehouse leadership and team members
Warehouse Operations
- Verify completed pallets for accuracy and quality
- Build and stage pallets according to delivery requirements
- Ensure proper product rotation using FIFO inventory practices
- Manage damaged product procedures and designated storage areas
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Assist with monthly inventory counts and audits
- Participate in facility opening and closing procedures
Equipment & Safety
- Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintenance checks
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of warehouse experience
- Previous forklift operating experience
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, move, and handle products throughout the shift
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred
- Previous warehouse supervisory or team lead experience
- Beverage, distribution, logistics, or wholesale industry experience
- Inventory control experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment
