DELVE DEEPER INTO THIS ELECTRICIAN ROLE
As an Electrician, your day starts with a strong emphasis on safety, using the necessary equipment and following established procedures to maintain a secure work environment. You stay alert, addressing any immediate safety issues or facility concerns, such as damage or alarms, to help ensure the educational space functions properly. Throughout this electrician role, you communicate effectively with your team, whether through conversations, written reports, or electronic messages. You operate various equipment, including district vehicles, electric carts, power lifts, and forklifts, and often climb ladders to access different areas and complete your assignments efficiently. Overall, your role is dynamic and centered on fostering a safe and operational environment.

THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who meets these requirements:
- Prior experience is a MUST (training or schooling will NOT be provided)
- Experience with basic knowledge of electrical trade methods, materials, tools, safety practices, and equipment
- Possession of a valid Class C New York State driver's license
- Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; trade school courses preferred
Knowledge of electrical principles and their application to the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and devices - Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, safety practices, and equipment used in the electrical trade
- Knowledge of safety factors in the operation of equipment and materials
- Knowledge of applicable safety codes, ordinances, and regulations
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, technical manuals, charts, and schematics
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports on completed assignments
- Ability to operate and maintain a variety of equipment and tools
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships
