SYSTRA's Construction Management unit is seeking Office Engineers - Field to support our current rail mass transit construction projects in operating railroad environments in the New York City Area.
Responsibilities:
The Office Engineer - Field, under the direction of a Project Manager, will:
- Use Established Software and Databases in the Performance of Document Control Functions
- Receive, Distribute, and Respond to Contractor Submittals/Deliverables
- Arrange Meetings as required with client Engineering and Construction Management Personnel
- Write Memos, Letters, and Meeting Minutes relevant to Project Activities
- Utilize Expertise and Experience to Assist in Timely Resolution of Project Issues
- Accept Flexible Work Hours including Occasional Nights and Weekends when necessary
- Generate Weekly and Monthly Project Summary Reports
- Assist the Project Manager in Managing Various Project Meetings
- Assist in Change Order Negotiations
- Maintain a Computer-Based Digital Photo Record of Construction Progress
Qualifications:
- Minimum Five (5) years of engineering experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred
- Experience and Proficiency with one or more project management software packages such as Expedition, Prolog or Constructware.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Good verbal and written communication skills
