Title: GCP Lead Data Engineer w AI/ML

Responsibilities:
- Lead Data Architecture & Design: Oversee and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex, scalable, and resilient data architectures, including data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming platforms.
- Develop & Optimize Data Pipelines: Lead the creation, maintenance, and optimization of advanced ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver large volumes of data from diverse sources. Ensure data integrity, quality, and performance across all data flows.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior data engineers, fostering best practices in coding, data modeling, and system design. Conduct code reviews and contribute to team skill development.
- Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data systems and pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with data scientists, data analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and influence data strategy. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance standards, implement robust data quality checks, and ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
- Acquire a deep understanding of vehicle engineering problems, translating them into appropriate mathematical representations and AI/ML solutions (classification, prediction, intelligent automation).
Experience Required:
- 10 years Data Engineering work experience including GCP, Big Data, Data Warehousing, Artificial Intelligence & Expert Systems, API.
- Expert proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala.
- Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, data manipulation, and database design.
- Extensive experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Flink).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling (dimensional, relational), and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and present technical information clearly.
- 2 year experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL), API design (REST/GraphQL) and building scalable API services using frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
- 2 year experience working with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.)
- A strong passion for evaluating, championing, and integrating new technologies and tools, particularly within GCP, into existing workflows, with the ability to clearly articulate and justify their business value and impact.
- Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interface between technical development teams and business stakeholders, understanding and navigating both IT and business constraints.
