Diesel Powertrain Calibration Engineer
We are seeking a Diesel Powertrain Calibration Engineer to join our team at STG, a Preferred Vendor of a major Automotive Firm in MI.
As a Diesel Powertrain Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating, assessing, testing, and optimizing vehicle attributes. This includes modifying vehicle and powertrain calibrations to meet attributes such as emissions, drivability, performance, diagnostics, fuel economy, and NVH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess vehicle attributes using data analysis and regression modeling.
- Modify and optimize vehicle and powertrain calibrations to meet attribute requirements.
- Interface with software algorithm suppliers to evaluate new features prior to development.
- Calibrate and sign-off features for future model year Diesel programs.
- Document progress and methods used to calibrate and validate features.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSAE, BSE Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering).
- 3 years experience in powertrain calibration with vehicle and/or dyno testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent data analysis capabilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player who excels in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with Matlab and Calibration Tools including ETAS and/or ATI.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of engine and vehicle operation.
Travel Requirements: Position may require travel to remote development locations (Arizona/Canada/Colorado/Florida) for vehicle testing – approximately 2 weeks per trip and 3 trips per year.
