Play a pivotal role in bringing cutting-edge medical technologies to the Warfighter by guiding acquisition strategies that transform innovative concepts into deployed capabilities. As a Senior Acquisition Specialist, you will work alongside military leaders, scientists, clinicians, and industry partners to navigate the intersection of DoD acquisition and FDA regulatory pathways for some of the nation’s most important medical product development programs. This is a unique opportunity to influence high-visibility decisions, shape future capabilities, and directly support military readiness and healthcare innovation.

  • Provide senior acquisition program management support within the DoD acquisition framework, applying knowledge of Federal regulations, DoDI 5000 series guidance, FDA regulatory statutes, PPBE processes, and Service acquisition policies to medical product development programs.
  • Integrate DoD acquisition processes with FDA and other applicable regulatory pathways for drugs, biologics, blood products, medical devices, diagnostics, and other regulated medical solutions.
  • Analyze new and changing DoD, DHA, and Agency policies, directives, and guidance; assess impacts to acquisition programs; and develop reports, briefings, decision papers, and recommendations for leadership review.
  • Lead and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Working Groups, Product Manager meetings, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), Milestone Decision Reviews (MDRs), and other acquisition forums supporting product development efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and review acquisition documentation, including Integrated Master Schedules, stakeholder communication plans, risk registers, decision logs, executive briefings, white papers, and responses to requests for information.
  • Support the preparation of acquisition milestone documentation, including Business Case Analyses, Acquisition Decision Memoranda, Acquisition Strategies, Simplified Acquisition Management Plans, Life Cycle Cost Estimates, Test and Evaluation documentation, and other program decision-support artifacts.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across DoD, DHA, military services, industry, and partner organizations to support acquisition planning, program execution, and product transition activities.
  • Apply risk-management principles to assess acquisition strategies, technology maturity, program risks, capability gaps, and investment opportunities, and provide recommendations to leadership regarding program execution and future development efforts.
  • Support market research, technology assessments, acquisition analyses, product evaluations, and strategic planning activities to inform acquisition decisions and portfolio management.
  • Monitor acquisition program performance and maintain program records, action-item trackers, correspondence, and documentation within approved electronic document-management systems while ensuring compliance with applicable acquisition and regulatory requirements.
