Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Technician to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will combine knowledge of mechanical technology with knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits. They install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade electronic and computer-controlled mechanical systems.
Duties
- Production of subassemblies and integration of subassemblies into rack based systems and enclosures.
- Assemble and test the performance of all manufactured cables and subassemblies.
- Know and understand IPC-A-610 (Acceptance and IPC-WHMA-A-650 (Cable and Wire Harness).
- Troubleshoot and repair failures in systems and equipment.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly of small and large equipment including alignment, calibration, and assembly of component parts, using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fixtures.
- Test and repair of subassemblies or cables to component level. Working knowledge of electronics required.
- Experienced in cable routing in electro-mechanical equipment racks is a must.
- Works from written procedures, schematics, rough sketches, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders. (Must demonstrate an ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings)
- Perform Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, and bridges, and record test results.
- Creates installation, removal, and testing instructions for use by field personnel both ashore and afloat.
- Responsible for all hardware, cable, and subassembly installation of Electro-Mechanical Equipment Racks.
- Performs final acceptance test of Electro-Mechanical Equipment Racks.
- Prepare written testing documentation.
- Inspect parts for surface defects.
- Very good reading and writing communication skills in English.
- Able to use Excel proficiently and Word as well as general PC operation.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally for up to one month, if needed.
- Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process.
- Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
- Follow company procedures and directives.
Qualifications
- Experienced in cable routing in electro-mechanical equipment racks is a must.(examples include: GPNTS, ADNS, CANES, DMR, and others).
- Experience in integration or assembly of complex DoD equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to assemble products.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong reading and writing communication skills in English.
- Keen attention to detail and quality.
- Able to use Microsoft Excel at a basic level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Security Clearance holders are strongly preferred, but not required.
- Associates Degree or Technical Trade certifications.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally for up to one month, if needed.
- 2 years of experience assembling electromechanical equipment racks.
