What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Draftsman / AutoCAD Designer – Manufacturing position at Systematic Automation?
We design and build custom machines entirely in-house. We are looking for a mechanical draftsman experienced with AutoCAD who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with the shop.
Responsibilities:
- Create and revise mechanical drawings using AutoCAD
- Assist in assembling your own designs and other drawings when needed
- Maintain organized drawing files, folders, naming conventions, and revisions
- Establish and follow internal drawing standards
- Update drawings based on fabrication and assembly feedback
- Work closely with engineers, machinists, and assembly staff
- Verify designs on the shop floor when needed
- Help clean up and standardize existing drawings
Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (mechanical drafting)
- Experience creating parts and assembly drawings
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable in a manufacturing / shop environment
- Ability to manage revisions and documentation accurately
Preferred (Not required):
- Experience in custom machinery or manufacturing
- Familiarity with fabrication, machining, or assembly processes
- Experience organizing drawing libraries or documentation systems
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
