Job Summary:
Facility is seeking an experienced Nationally Certified Clinical Assistant to support Urgent Care clinic operations in Juneau. This role is essential in maintaining efficient patient flow, supporting providers, performing advanced clinical assistant duties, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory care environment. Urgent Care experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication updates
- Perform Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), specimen collection, nebulizer treatments, ear lavage, cast removal, and other competency-based procedures
- Assist providers during exams, treatments, and minor procedures
- Perform EKGs, oxygen application, dressing changes, and patient education as directed
- Maintain exam room cleanliness, sterilization, and supply inventory
- Document patient information accurately in EMR systems
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to urgent situations
- Support clinic workflow through scheduling support, phone communication, and administrative tasks
- Conduct QA checks and maintain equipment logs
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Clinical Competency within 3 months of hire and every 3 years
- MUST have Urgent Care experience
- Completion of Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program or relevant CNA/EMT/CHA experience
- Minimum 1 year healthcare experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient triage, and ambulatory clinic procedures
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience using EMR systems and medical equipment preferred
