Position Description:

S³, Inc. is seeking a General Manager (GM) for KBFS management and growth to work at our home office in Huntsville, AL.  The GM will travel frequently to the KBFS operating sites:  Geneva, AL, Crestview, FL, and Temple, TX.  The operations are detailed on the company’s website.  Industry management experience of commercial airfield P/L operations in pilot training, aircraft maintenance, and airfield operations are required.  Operational risk mitigation and financial management for commercial airfield operations requiring a seasoned GM, in both commercial and federal contracting, P/L KBFS support, and, Army, AF, and Navy requirements.

While military experience in fixed wing and rotary aircraft operations, training, and maintenance is a plus, it is not sufficient where commercial airfield hands-on operations is required. This is not a teleworking position.

The KBFS GM is accountable for strategic level leadership, management, and strategic vision necessary to ensure that the subsidiary has the proper operational controls, administrative staff, reporting procedures, and personnel in place to effectively execute the missions, grow the organization, and generate a profit.  The GM is accountable for the financial strength and operating efficiency to generate the projected profitability.  The GM establishes and maintains the operational culture and ethics of KBFS sites to ensure both the integrity and operational safety of the sites.  With this accountability, the GM functions as a senior management team member of the S3 Corporation.  The GM is responsible for development and execution of a five year business plan for KBFS with direct management of government and commercial programs.

Responsibilities:

• Plans, organizes, and directs all business development and marketing functions, coordinating and cooperating with other technical departments.
• Develops operating budgets and business plans to support company objectives and executive approved plans.
• Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and discipline of assigned employees.
• Serves as primary source for program, marketing, financial, and department information.
• Regularly interfaces with customer representatives to maintain open communications and to develop and expand business opportunities through management of both waterfall and pipeline opportunities.
• Ensures that the subsidiary maintains total responsiveness to customer requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, 15 years aviation program management experience in rotary and fixed wing commercial  and federal contracted ISR training, operations for pilot training, maintenance of the aircraft, airfield operations/refueling, and P/L.
• The GM for KBFS must have extensive knowledge of military and commercial flight, maintenance, and fixed base operations.
• The GM should have commercial aviation program management experience and have a working knowledge of commercial aviation maintenance procedures.
• The GM should have a thorough knowledge of FAA rules and regulations.
• The GM should have experience in federal contract management, FAR/DFARS, profit and loss, aviation insurance, and aviation safety and quality requirements.
• This position requires 40% travel to our field sites in Geneva, AL, Crestview, FL, and Temple, TX.  The ideal candidate has held positions of similar requirements and accountability with C Suite reporting for business expansion, P/L, and task mitigation.
• This position requires an active DOW (formerly DoD) Secret Clearance.
