S³ Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the F&A team at our corporate HQ in Cummings Research Park, Huntsville, AL.

This is not a teleworking position.

Description:

An International Payroll Specialist manages and processes payroll for employees working in multiple countries, ensuring compliance with local tax laws, social security rules, and employment regulations. The specialist oversees end-to-end multi-country payroll operations. They partner with local finance teams, human resources, and external regional vendors to deliver accurate and timely compensation worldwide. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing moderately complex accounting tasks in general or specialized accounting functions such as Reconciliations, Cost Accounting and prepares reports, invoices computer input and other accounting data.  Examines accounting documents to verify and ascertain that all transactions are supported in accordance with pertinent policies and procedures, and classified and recorded according to acceptable accounting standards.  Assists in the development and installation of accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls.  

Responsibilities:

• Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
• Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
• Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
• Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation payments.
• Investigates wage discrepancies, answer to employee pay queries
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

   

   

Qualifications:

·     Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience

·    3 - 5 year experience with international payrolls and multi-country enrivonment

·    3 years  experience with Deltek Costpoint.

·     Month-end close, reconciliations and creating journal entries

    High attention to detail, data confidentiality, cross cultural communications
