Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of System Studies and Simulation (S³), providing a variety of aviation services to commercial, Government, and Partner Nation customers.
KBFS has locations in Temple, TX; Crestview, FL; and Geneva, AL. KBFS currently holds certifications for CFR 14 FAA Part 133 (External Loads), 135 (Non-Scheduled Transport), 137 (Agricultural Spray Operations), 141 (Flight Training), and 145 (Repair Station). In addition to its current commercial operations, KBFS provides contract aviation support to the Department of Defense, other US Federal Agencies, and US-approved Foreign Militaries and security organizations. The S³/KBFS Crestview, FL International ISR Training Academy provides pilot, mission system operator, flying crew chief, and loadmaster qualification training in air-land, airdrop, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission sets. KBFS Geneva provides Fixed Base Operations support for the Geneva Municipal Airport and is the recipient of the 2023 FAA Award for Airport Manager of the Year under Manager Bryan Pike. KBFS Temple provides Flight Training, Aircraft Maintenance, and Avionics support, and Commercial Aviation Operations.
Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) has an immediate opening for an Instructor Pilot 3100 support our operations in Crestview, FL.
Job Description:
KBFS Crestview supports U.S. Department of Defense in various training venues. Through our air advisor operations training, we have a requirement for C208 Mission Instructor Pilot support. This position reports directly to the contract Program Manager. The duty site is Crestview, FL. Training is normally conducted from Monday-Friday. Weather cancellations may alter that schedule. Job requires presentation of a neat and well-groomed appearance, effective oral and written communications skills, and ability to demonstrate aircraft skills and expertise to meet all technical support requirements with professionalism.
Experience Required:
Cessna 208 Mission Instructor Pilot must have prior military U-28 or PC-12, Cessna 208, P-3, King Air/T-44, T-34/T-6 or equivalent experience (focused experience in the C-208 aircraft is preferred).
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Must have been a Military or Civilian Instructor Pilot within the past 10 years.
Must have 1,000 hours of experience in turbine aircraft and 10 years' minimum military flight experience.
Must be FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) required.
Must have focused experience working with military aircrew in a Simulated Flight Environment.
It is highly desirable that the contractor have a working understanding of special mission tasks, including Strike Operations, Video Downlink (VDL), Tactical Communications, Static & Dynamic ISR, Joint Operations, Tactical Departures and Approaches, Low Level/Very Low Level Operations, Substandard Field/Engine Running On/Offload (ERO) and Short-field landings/takeoffs.
NVG experience is preferred.
