Job Title: Traction Power System Technician

Responsibilities
- Review and approve all Power System Maintenance documentation received from OEM suppliers, including Traction Power, UPS, Generators, low voltage, etc.
- Review and approve all Power System maintenance manuals and instructions.
- Ensure modifications approved by the original design authority are reviewed by competent engineers and records stored in the MMIS database.
- Review complex faults in Traction Power equipment; support or obtain expert support to rectify faults and defects.
- Produce the Annual Asset Management Report for Traction Power Maintenance Equipment assets, noting future CARP and potential obsolescence issues.
- Collaborate with Traction Power and Facility Maintenance Sections to keep maintenance procedures and instructions up to date and followed by staff.
- Assist in developing, planning, and implementing overhaul, rehabilitation, and replacement programs for department assets.
- Conduct special studies, investigations, and serve as a troubleshooter or project officer as directed.
- Act as the Expert and Engineer responsible for acceptance of new Power Equipment and Maintenance Equipment.
- Manage data accuracy and content in the MMIS system.
- Participate as part of the Incident/Accident Investigation team.
- Perform shift work, including weekends and holidays, as typical of major infrastructure projects and transit system operations.
- Engage in training programs as needed and perform related duties as required.
Requirements
- Detailed technical knowledge of Power System Maintenance Equipment.
- Knowledge of railway systems interfacing with Power System equipment.
- Understanding of Power System maintenance processes, including preventative, corrective, overhaul, and commissioning tests.
- Ability to review technical files of Power System workshop equipment.
- Current CDL license required; must obtain within 12 months if not already possessed, with company covering training costs.
- Experience working primarily on third shift (20:00 to 04:00), with flexibility to rotate shifts as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent technical background in High Voltage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and direct multidisciplinary teams and work independently or in teams under pressure.
- Proficiency in English is required.
