Senior Java Developer / SDET
ALTA IT is seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer / SDET to join a cross-functional, enterprise team. This is a hybrid role that combines Java application development with test automation. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications
- Support Java 21 migration and ongoing platform enhancements
- Build and maintain automated integration and UI tests using Karate, Selenium, and Cucumber
- Contribute to both back-end and front-end development (Angular or React as needed)
- Work closely with Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders
- Decompose functional and technical requirements and identify risks
- Follow test-first practices (TDD/BDD) and ensure high code quality
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
- 8 years of hands-on software development experience
- Strong Java development experience with Spring (Spring Core, Boot, MVC, Integration, Batch)
- Hands-on experience with Angular or React
- Strong automation experience with Karate, Selenium, and Cucumber
- Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices
- Working knowledge of SQL and cloud-based databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams
- Full-stack development experience
- Experience with large-scale or enterprise applications
- Mentoring or technical leadership experience
