Senior Project Engineer – Roadway Design
Location: Columbia, SC
Pay Rate: Salary will be commensurate with experience
Relocation: Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience designing highway and roadway corridors, interchanges, roadway widening projects, intersection and safety improvements, and multimodal facilities for the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and/or municipal clients. Experience managing transportation projects is highly preferred.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, seeking long-term career growth, and possess strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited university
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina, or ability to obtain within six (6) months
- 6–15 years of progressive experience in transportation and roadway design
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of SCDOT standards and procedures, including:
- Project development and concept design
- Preparation of plans (preliminary, right-of-way, and construction)
- Specifications, special provisions, and engineer’s estimates
- Experience with roadway plan production and development
- Proficiency in MicroStation and GEOPAK/OpenRoads Designer
- Familiarity with SCDOT Standards, AASHTO Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, ADA, PROWAG, and related criteria
- Strong verbal communication and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver’s license
